Fuel Cell Seminar in San Antonio
By Chris | October 3, 2007
| October 15, 2007 5:00 pm | to | October 18, 2007 2:00 pm |
Nabertherm will be exhibiting in Booth 530 of this year’s Fuel Cell Seminar in San Antonio TX.
Nabertherm supplies kilns and furnaces for producing and testing Solid Oxide Fuel Cells (SOFCs). We count among our customers many of the world’s leading manufacturers’ of SOFCs, and several suppliers of materials to the SOFC industry, many who will be exhibiting here.
On display will be our line of high-temperature furnaces. Nabertherm manufactures more high-temperature furnaces for sintering Zirconia than any other manufacturer. Our standard furnaces range from our bench-top units starting at 2 liters (0.07 cu. ft.) to free-standing units up to 450 liters (16 cu. ft.) and are available rated for 1600, 1750 and 1800 °C (2912, 3182 and 3272 °F). Custom-built units up to 1440 liters (51 cu. ft.) have been built.
A popular option among our SOFC customers are our combi-furnaces. These furnaces were specifically designed with a preheated air system for efficient binder burnout, then can be heated to full temperature to sinter the product. SOFC manufacturers who use this system benefit from fewer handling defects than when products are transferred from the debind furnace to the sintering furnace, and higher productivity from reduced needs to handle the products.
Nabertherm also is a provider of testing furnaces for SOFC modules and stacks. Popular models for this purpose are our hinged-tube furnaces, our chamber kilns and our hood furnaces.

Nabertherm is 60!
By Chris | September 18, 2007

On Sunday, September 16, 2007, Nabertherm celebrated the 60th anniversary of its founding by Conrad Naber.
In that time, Nabertherm has grown from a small, regional manufacturer of kilns and furnaces for the area immediately surrounding its original headquarters in Bremen, Germany to a multinational organization with offices in 8 countries, and representatives in an additional 50. Nabertherm currently delivers more than 7,000 kilns, ovens and furnaces per year.
Nabertherm remains spry and nimble despite its age: This year Nabertherm is projecting double-digit growth of furnace deliveries and sales. To respond to this demand, we are adding personnel in all departments.
Although we are busy, we have not let our R&D department rest, as there are numerous new products being released to better improve our value proposition for our customers. Watch this space for more details of these in the coming weeks.
So, for our anniversary, we propose a toast to you, our valued customers:
Without you we could not have been successful for these last 60 years, and without you we can not be successful in the future. With you in mind, we will continue on our focused path of building the kilns, ovens and furnaces that offer you the best value for your capital dollar. Thank you, and here’s to a bright future together.
Prost!

Heat Treating - A Tool to Unlock Value
By Rick Sabol | August 17, 2007
The Crucible, the flagship publication of the Non-Ferrous Founders’ Society has published the following article “Heat Treating - A Tool to Unlock Value” Co-Authored by Ralph Marshall and Chris Pilko of Nabertherm Inc. in the July /August 2007 Edition.
Adding a heat treatment operation to your foundry could allow you to save costs and offer more services to your customers.
What have you done to make your products a better value for your customers today? Or, if you prefer: What has your competition done to make their products a better value for your customers today? We all know in today’s fast-paced global economy, the easy sales are over. Customers will switch vendors whenever they can find a better value for their money.
Talladega Pattern & Aluminum Works in Talladega, Alabama realized that they could increase the value to their customers by bringing their heat treating operation in-house. With a single furnace and quench-tank, they are able to deliver heat treated castings in two days. Their rapid turnaround time has made Talladega Pattern indispensable to their customers.
